pcAmerica Releases Point of Sale Software

New Version Offers More Than 50 New Features

Pearl River, NY – September 14, 2010--pcAmerica, a leading developer of retail and restaurant point of sale software, announced the release of Version 12.5 of its Cash Register Express and Restaurant Pro Express point of sale software.

 The new version of the already highly functional POS software offer several new and improved features that enhance their usefulness to retail and restaurateur end users. Some of the major changes are:

 

  • An innovative new LCD pole display interface that shows the last few items rung up as well as scrolling digital signage, enabling operators to run advertisements and showcase promotional messages to their customers
  •  

  • Capability to e-mail receipts to customers any purchase orders to vendors, reducing paper consumption and increasing ‘Green’ image
  •  

  • An integrated Labor Scheduler with a simple drag and drop interface
  •  

  • An optional fuel pump module allows fuel- and non-fuel-related transactions to be handled from a single point of sale system
  •  

  • Online ordering interface added to Restaurant Pro Express, enabling customers to place orders online with their credit card and have the order automatically print out in the kitchen for take-out or delivery

Additionally, both CRE and RPE now accommodate 3DES pinpad encryption, which in accordance with the latest Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) must be utilized by all merchants and foodservice operators that accept credit and debit cards.  Cash Register Express now allows the addition of tips to retail transactions at such establishments as salons and car washes, enables managers to split commissions by item, allows mass updating of prices based on a set schedule, and much more. Among other upgrades, Restaurant Pro Express includes enhancements to place combo meal orders more easily and stimulate upselling/suggestive selling of menu items.
