pcAmerica Appointed to Honeywell Scanning & Mobility’s Independent Software Vendor Advisory Council

Board Designed to Provide Expertise on Data Collection, Scanning and Mobility

Pearl River, NY – November 4, 2010 – pcAmerica, a leading developer of retail and restaurant point-of-sale software, today announced that it has been selected by Honeywell Scanning & Mobility to be part of a 10-member Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Advisory Council, designed to provide strategic guidance on market trends and industry innovations impacting the automatic identification and data collection (AIDC) industry. The ISV Advisory Council will also play a role in the development of Honeywell’s go-to-market product plans for new solutions.

“I am honored to be serving on Honeywell’s ISV Advisory Council, as Honeywell is at the forefront of the point-of-sale industry,” said David Gosman, Chief Executive Officer of pcAmerica. “Through this partnership with Honeywell, we are able gain insight into the company’s current products and services and provide counsel on new and developing concepts. In addition to providing mutual feedback, we are able to seek out joint opportunities that will advance our brands. I look forward to working with Honeywell executives on new opportunities and technologies as they develop.”

pcAmerica has been providing computerized point of sale software solutions to the retail, restaurant, and hospitality industries for more than 20 years. Its retail and restaurant software packages, Cash Register Express and Restaurant Pro Express have more than 50,000 users worldwide.

pcAmerica has been working with Honeywell technology for more than 15 years. Both of the company’s point-of-sale packages are certified to work with a wide range of Honeywell products.

“We’ve asked 10 of our most valued and successful ISV partners to provide their expert guidance and support by sitting on the board of Honeywell’s ISV Advisory Council,” said Laura Kelleher, director of Americas marketing, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. “We recognize this council is one of the first of its kind in our industry and see it as a unique opportunity for Honeywell to have real conversations with vested parties about the current state and future outlook of the automatic identification and data capture space.”

The council’s first meeting took place August 12-13, 2010 in Fort Mill, S.C. and covered topics including hardware vendor trends, hardware certification standards and lifecycle services.
